'Jonas Brothers 3D' Posts Slightly Disappointing Numbers

According to BOXOFFICE.com's Early Weekend Estimates, Disney's Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience should bring in around $21 million this weekend. Considering that Disney's last 3D concert film, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds grossed $31 million during its opening frame from only 683 locations and JB3D opened at nearly twice that, the numbers come across as slightly disappointing. Even though Hannah Montana was billed as an exclusive engagement before ultimately hanging around in theatres for 15 weeks, Disney should have been able to manage stronger debut numbers without that gimmick for JB3D since it appeals to impatient younger audiences (read: they go to see movies the first weekend they are released).
